The E-Z RATCH™ Torsion Spring Winding System was invented 1993 by the Albentom company. In 1997, the company name was changed to Safe Ratch Inc. and subsequently purchased by the current owner in 2015. Since then it has been our mission to design, manufacture, and deliver products to the overhead door industry that help to increase productivity of professional door mechanics and installers while minimizing the risks to personal safety and injury they commonly face on the job.
We designed and patented (US 6508461 B1) the E-Z RATCH to meet these goals. Over the years, through field testing and listening to feedback from our customers and industry professionals using our products, we have improved the strength and reliability of the E-Z RATCH system. Likewise, we have expanded the capabilities of the product to work with a wider range of torsion springs and to meet the needs of both commercial and residential installers.
